Equines are Innately Mindful

Equines, by nature, only know how to live by gravitating toward a state of homeostasis (any self-regulating process by which biological systems tend to maintain stability while adjusting to conditions that are optimal for survival). From them, we can learn how to be more in tune with our senses and surroundings, which has implied benefits such as: stress reduction, balance of the body, mind and spirit and improved feelings of health and wellness. Through mindful practices (horsemanship, yoga, coaching) with equine partners, we can learn how to allow our genuine soul to shine and live the best quality of life that we deserve.

Adaptive Horsemanship

Our Adaptive Horsemanship lessons are designed to serve people with a variety of special needs including: Autism, ADHD/ADD, Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injury, Physical, MS, Anxiety, PTS.  All Adaptive Horsemanship lessons are taught by Certified PATH International (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) Instructors.

We offer the following types of Adaptive Horsemanship programs:

  •  Therapeutic Horsemanship- focuses on supporting individuals with cognitive and/or physical special needs with an emphasis on learning horsemanship skills.
  • Heart Centered Horsemanship for Veterans- designed for active and retired military personnel with an emphasis on equine facilitated learning.  There is no charge to the participant.
  • Heart Centered Horsemanship- serves individuals who have social/emotional special needs with an emphasis on equine facilitated learning.
  • Mindful Moments- serves individuals who live with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, with an emphasis on enhancing quality of life. 
  • We offer 60 minute group (2-4 people) or private, mounted* or unmounted horsemanship lessons that are designed to meet your needs and goals.
  • Horsemanship lessons may include: grooming & tacking, riding skills, equine care, equine first aid, equine anatomy, form to function, equine behavior, round pen work, Masterson Method © body work.
  • Group lessons are designed with similar ages, abilities and needs in mind.
  • All lessons are scheduled in calendar sessions, ranging from 4-8 weeks.
  • All participants are required to register for an entire calendar session.

Cost

  • 60 minute group lesson $70/pp x number of session weeks
  • 60 minute private lesson $100 x number of session weeks
  • 30 minute private lesson $50 x number of session weeks

Yoga With Equines


 

Equines are a mirror to our souls

Horsemanship and yoga are both ancient holistic practices.  Yoga is an inner journey, set at your own pace and within the scope of your abilities, toward well-being.

 

The essential elements of yoga are the union of the body, mind and soul:

  • Body: through which we experience the world physically
  • Mind: responsible for our intellectual perceptions
  • Soul: the unseen part of us that seeks inner-balance and peace in our​ lives

In our yoga on horseback classes*, we will be practicing Hatha Yoga. Hatha (Ha-ta) is a Sanskrit word that means- to bring a balanced unity of the polarities within us. Yoga is holistic in nature because it addresses your entire being comprised of the body, mind and soul.

Equines possess the following qualities that allow them be incredible mentors and partners in your yoga journey:

•Equines innately possess body-mind-soul awareness

•Equines are sentient creatures who communicate primarily through energy and body language

•Equines naturally gravitate toward a state of homeostasis- balance of the central nervous system

•Equines only know how to live in the present moment

•Equines are honest and do not judge

•Equines are willing to create a symbiotic relationship with you

Health & Welln​ess Coachi​ng

 

The 7 Pillars of Health & Wellness

 Together, we will create a health and wellness coaching program, that includes our equine partners (mounted* or unmounted) and that is designed to leave you feeling grounded, balanced, relaxed and more in tune with yourself and the world around you. This custom program will be designed specifically for you to meet your goals surrounding the seven pillars of health and wellness. You can expect to gain an understanding of how to use a variety of tools that can help you improve your health and happiness in order to live the quality of life that you deserve.

Cost

Balance Package: 4 weeks (4- 90 minute sessions) $500

Shine Package: 12 weeks (12- 90 minute sessions) $1,200

Custom Package: $100/hr. (minimum 90 minutes)
