Adaptive Horsemanship

Our Adaptive Horsemanship 501(c)(3) nonprofit program lessons are designed to serve people with a variety of special needs including: Autism, ADHD/ADD, Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome, Traumatic Brain Injury, Physical, MS, Anxiety, PTS.  All Adaptive Horsemanship lessons are taught by Certified PATH International (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International) Instructors.  Horsemanship lessons may include ground and/or mounted activities.

 

We offer the following types of Adaptive Horsemanship programs:

Therapeutic Horsemanship- focuses on supporting individuals with cognitive and/or physical special needs with an emphasis on learning horsemanship skills.

Heart Centered Horsemanship for Heroes- designed for active and retired military personnel, as well as first responders, with an emphasis on equine facilitated learning.  There is no charge to the participant.

Heart Centered Horsemanship- serves individuals who have social/emotional special needs with an emphasis on equine facilitated learning.

Mindful Moments- serves individuals who live with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia, with an emphasis on enhancing quality of life.

  • We offer 60-minute, mounted* or unmounted, group horsemanship lessons that are designed to meet your needs and goals.  Groups are 2-4 participants for Therapeutic & Mindful Moments programs, 2-5 participants for Heart Centered Horsemanship programs.

  • Horsemanship lessons may include: grooming & tacking, riding skills, equine care, equine first aid, equine anatomy, form to function, equine behavior, round pen work, Masterson Method © body work.

  • Lessons are designed with similar ages, abilities and needs in mind.

  • All lessons are scheduled in yearly calendar sessions, ranging from 4-8 weeks.

  • All participants are required to register for an entire calendar session and full payment is due at time of registration.  Scholarships may be offered for those who qualify and are dependent upon available fund.

  • Once registered, the participant will remain in the program until a request for discontinuance has been submitted.

Cost

  • 60 minute group lesson- $70 per person x number of session weeks.
